KINDLE ✓ Sleepy Hollow Ú Peter Lerangis
And a beautiful young woman Ichabod uses reason to confront the horrors of the unexplained But the reality of Sleepy Hollow's waking nightmare is always before him A reality where witches cast spells in the darkened woodstrees bleedand a demon rides at nigh A nice short tale I read in one sitting this is where the legend of it all comes from the Disney film and the Tim Burton movie all from this short tale where Ichabod has not one line of speech as the tale it told in the first personNOTE I did not read the Tim Burton film dramatization only the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving which is also in this bookThe bit with the headless horseman was not told in a very terrifying way it was all very uick and surely terrifying for Ichabod but not the reader and I'm currently not sure whether it really was Brom on a horse I suspect it was so the ghost did not really appear to Ichabod Tim Burton broke the rules by adding in a ghost and witches that did real and evil magic Irving does not prove that the ghost was real so he breaks no rules Nothing like messing with the rules of reality in fictionStill this is a good Gothic tale for Americans to be proud of focusing on history New England superstition and their own style of ghost tale to match the location and times
Peter Lerangis Ú Sleepy Hollow MOBI
Sleepy HollowErs that take him far from the city's cobblestones to the eerie town of Sleepy Hollow Awaiting him are three beheaded bodies all apparently victims of a legendary Headless Horseman returned from the grave to exact revenge With the help of an orphaned child I found this book at my local 2nd hand store for 1 so I thought I'd pick it up I like to collect movie novelisations so it goes nicely with my collection While it is nicely written and reads along rather uickly I found that the movie actually had in it usually with novelisations you get backstory and detail but with this there actually seemed to be less and almost no characterisation at all I still really liked it though such a great gothic tale 3 stars
